Producer: Mezzacorona is a driving force behind the quality of Trentino wines, with a state-of-the-art winery handling fruit both from the company`s own extensive vineyard holdings and from some 1,300 growers.
Vineyard: This flagship Pinot Grigio is grown in the well-drained soils of the Zablani zone northeast of Mezzacorona. The fruit is hand-picked and delivered to the winery in a matter of hours to minimize unwelcome skin contact.
Winery: Once at the winery, the grapes are pressed and the must cooled for settling overnight. The fermentation begins in stainless steel at 16-18C, then the wine is transferred to barrique to complete the process.
Taste: A complex and quite weighty style of Pinot Grigio, with notes of spice and pear, a ripe, round texture, and a whisper of smoke.
