Green Tea Pure is a classic expression of green tea offered by Ahmad Tea. The blend is carefully sourced from quality Chinese teas to achieve the perfect balance between cleansing dried grass notes and soothing toasted flavors. A sip of this tea will leave you feeling both calm and uplifted at the same time.
The Tea Masters at Ahmad Tea source the fine green teas for this blend from China's Jiangxi, Anhui, and Zhejiang provinces, known as the 'Golden Triangle' for its renowned tea quality. The blend includes high-quality Chun Mee with both silvery tips and leaf fannings, harvested in the early spring when it has a more delicate and sweet flavor. Chun Mee means 'precious eyebrow,' named after the curled appearance of the dried tea leaves, and adds a lovely rounded character to the blend. Infusing a bag of Green Tea Pure in hot water will produce a pretty golden-yellow color and a pure, energizing bouquet.
Green tea has been an essential part of Chinese culture for over 5,000 years and is known for its fresh color and grassy flavors. Unlike black tea, green tea generally isn't allowed to oxidize, preserving its natural antioxidants and flavors. For this blend, the tea leaves are 'fixed' by pan-frying in large woks, a traditional technique that seals in the flavors and natural antioxidants of the tea plant. Pan-frying imparts a delicate 'toasted' note that makes this style of Chinese tea uniquely satisfying.
We recommend brewing the teabags in hot water around at 80 to 85°C, so the natural goodness of the tea is preserved without any bitterness being drawn out. Simply pour freshly boiled water into your cup or pot and leave it for two to three minutes before adding the teabag, or use a kettle with variable temperature setting. Enjoy this tea without milk, as an early morning reviver, a mid-morning lift or a lunchtime refresher. Green tea has a calming, cleansing effect that revives the senses and refreshes the palate, so it’s particularly good after food. In warmer weather, you can even serve our Green Tea iced for a light, refreshing serve. Simply steep the teabag then dilute with iced water, with maybe a slice of lemon to bring out the fresh flavours.
