Norcia, near the breathtaking Sibillini mountains in Umbria, is known for its fresh air and stunning scenery, and for its popularity among mountaineers and hikers. It's a favourite spot for hunters, especially of wild boar, and the town has become fabled for its sausages and ham to the point that the term norcineria is in itself almost a guarantee of quality.
Norcia ham is a delicious mountain ham, similar in style to Prosciutto crudo, that can be served in much the same manner - as a cold cut, in panini, on pizzas, in pasta sauces... the possibilities are almost endless.
